Sr. Consultant, Integration Lead

Position Overview

The Principal / Sr. Consultant reports through the BRIDGE Delivery organization and is focused on successfully delivering utility projects on time, on budget and with a high level of client satisfaction. This individual will be responsible for leading the design, development, testing, and implementation of solutions and mapping business requirements to systems/technical requirements. This role will primarily focus on configuring and integrating client systems with COTS applications to create value-added solutions for our clients.

The Integration Lead has the technical skills and experience needed to develop cost-effective, timely solutions that meet functional and performance requirements while focusing on component reuse. The ideal Integration Lead candidate has demonstrated the ability to adapt to technology shifts over time. These skills include the ability to define, influence, and communicate technical direction, to make decisions, to be driven and work autonomously to ensure the successful implementation of solutions.

This individual will also lead, mentor and assist individual contributors executing upon the development tasks. The Integration Lead must work collaboratively with other team members and clients. This role also serves as a key role in developing reusable solutions by ensuring the design and delivery are built in alignment with the vision of the practice teams and solution architects.  The ideal candidate excels at leading development teams to deliver best-of-breed solutions to BRIDGE clients. The individual will have solid technical abilities and technical leadership skills. The qualified candidate will be a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

  • Hands-on technical system integration implementation lead and developer responsible for the overall design, build, configuration test and deployment of real-time visualization and analytics solution(s)
  • Lead the development and maintenance of documentation to support integration requirements, technical design, and implementation planning
  • Direct and provide technical oversight to one or more developers and provide mentoring on advanced development concepts and technical capabilities to developers on the project
  • Coordinate coding and unit testing phases of system development and facilitate code reviews
  • Complete/oversee the development and quality assurance effort
  • Develop design specifications with guidance from the architect
  • Collaborate with client IT team and other IT partners to advise capacity planning and ensure appropriate infrastructure for end-to-end system delivery
  • Participate and work with client IT team to install and configure IT infrastructure to support historical archived data
  • Provide technical recommendations to clients on tools, best practices, and standards related to integration and development life cycle
  • Understand and transform business requirements into scalable/manageable solution architecture and design specifications
  • Develop client relationships within the context of the role
  • Ensure solution and BRIDGE development team adhere to BRIDGE design and development standards
  • Ensure proper response and resolution to issues and errors
  • Create prototypes and authoring detailed interaction specifications
  • Participate in project planning, defining and estimating development tasks that will be required to meet client objectives
  • Provide regular updates to the project manager for assigned work
  • Escalate risks and issues to the project manager
  • Hold BRIDGE development team members accountable for tasks and provide assistance and guidance where required
  • Ensure all deliverables and activities required to meet the project scope and objectives are identified and documented and comply with the statement of work, as assigned by the project manager
  • Contribute to the development of BRIDGE best practices and delivery methodology by working with the practice and delivery organizations to institutionalize best practices, work product templates and delivery processes for future reuse
  • Develop trusted client relationships through a focus on exceeding client expectations, demonstrating credibility through applied subject matter expertise, and being responsive to client needs; be the client advocate to assure technology implementation creates value to the business

Skills, Experience & Education Requirements

  • 7+ years of integration development experience
  • Recent experience developing geospatial visualization solutions using OSIsoft Asset Framework (PI AF) and ESRI involving complex system integrations across multiple data sources
  • Experience with OSIsoft PI query development, report/dashboard development and advanced analytics such as data mining
  • 5+ years of integration development experience as a hands-on coder
  • 2+ years analytics coding experience in R and/or Python a plus
  • Strong math, statistics, and analytics experience and skills
  • Experience designing and implementing cubes and data lakes
  • Oracle SQL experience required
  • Familiarity with GIS systems for electric or gas transmission
  • 3+ years of leading development teams
  • 3+ years in consulting/services (client-facing) delivery roles
  • Experience working in a rapid-paced consulting and services organization
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Team leader who understands the importance of teamwork, collaboration, and open communication
  • Deep familiarity with an end-to-end technology implementation methodology and standards
  • Must have a passion for customer satisfaction and can manage customer’s needs and expectations
  • Excellent organizational, time management and customer relation/communication skills
  • Overnight travel to client site when required and depending on the engagement may require up to 50% travel
  • BS or BA in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent
  • Post-graduate technical degree or MBA desirable but not required

Domain Expertise Requirements

  • Experience working with Transmission and/or Distribution Electric Utilities
  • Familiarity with SCADA, and synchrophasor measurement data and systems preferred
  • Regression modeling experience preferred
  • Spatial analytics experience preferred
  • Experience developing data warehouse solutions including cubes, and data structures
