Systems Administrator 1

Position Overview

This successful candidate will be an essential team member to the BRIDGE IT organization focusing on day to day operations for all BRIDGE systems and end-users. This individual is not expected to be proficient in all technologies and operational elements but must have good foundational IT and interpersonal skills as well as a desire to learn.

In addition, the successful candidate will be involved in system upgrades and replacements.  He/she will also help with our focus on continuous improvement by identifying, recommending, and implementing improvements in our people, processes, and technologies.

This ever-evolving role is expected to provide new opportunities to grow professionally based on company needs and individual’s interests. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of an associated degree or equivalent years of professional IT experience.  Proficiency in Windows 10 OS with a general understanding of corporate IT infrastructures and their components is required.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, support, troubleshoot, and maintaining hardware and software, wired and wireless networking, applications, printers and peripherals
  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking assistance over the phone, in person, or via email
  • Track, maintain, and manage asset inventory
  • Assist in overall user experience and customer satisfaction
  • Document and track all work ticketing systems to assure quality service
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills, Experience & Education Requirements

  • Proficient in Windows 10 operating system administration
  • A general understanding of corporate IT infrastructures and its components
  • Customer-oriented and cool-tempered
  • Aptitude and enthusiasm to learn and support complex technical concepts
  • Excellent documentation and attention to detail skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot technologies you may not be familiar with using web-searches, internal documentation and input from other team members
  • Strong communication skills are a must. Ideal candidate should be able to communicate with IT Manager and employees in an effective manner
  • Top notch problem-solving skills
  • Desire to do what is required to get the job done
  • Ability to work independently and is self-motivated
  • College/Technical degree or related work experience
  • Some experience in a customer service type of role (e.g. retail, food industry, helpdesk, other)

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • Work requires ability to lift 30 – 50 pounds
  • Willingness to be available off regular business hours for on-call support, when needed
  • Able to work flexible hours, holidays, weekends and occasionally extended hours, when needed
  • Ability to work under stress during peak workload periods including an incident response
  • Cubed office space working alongside other professionals
