Volunteer mentoring and scholarship funding to local students serves as the latest addition to BRIDGE’s Corporate Social Responsibility Program
MARLBOROUGH, MA – August 16, 2012 – BRIDGE Energy Group, the leading Smart Grid IT services and software solutions provider for clients in the Utility industry, today announced their financial support of “Fairway to the FUTURE,” to benefit The FUTURE Foundation of Sacramento.
The FUTURE Foundation of Sacramento provides volunteer mentoring and scholarship funding to local underprivileged students in support of their college education. Since 2007, The FUTURE Foundation Board of Directors has selected Sacramento Region high school students to receive mentoring from 10th grade through college graduation. Through The FUTURE Foundation financial need-based college scholarship, each qualified student can receive up to approximately $35,000 in scholarship funding. The longevity of this unique program is the key to success for the students. The goal of The FUTURE Foundation scholarship is to meet unmet financial needs of all students in the program, however rising university fees pose greater challenges in meeting this goal. Financial support from socially responsible organizations such as BRIDGE, ensures that the program will continue to help students achieve their educational goals.
“The alignment of corporate social responsibility with BRIDGE’s business strategy ensures the creation of both social and business value,” said Richard Montbleau, Co-founder and Executive Vice President of BRIDGE Energy Group. “We hope to encourage positive impact on our communities, consumers, employees and the environment through various charitable activities and financial support.”
Throughout 2011 and 2012, BRIDGE has also supported the American Cancer Society, the Wounded Warriors Project and Girls Incorporated of Worcester. Employees of BRIDGE also opted to join a local road race to raise money for scholarships for students in the surrounding communities, including the location of BRIDGE’s headquarters in Marlborough, Massachusetts.
