BRIDGE to Present on Bridging the Smart Grid Divide and Emerging Technologies at Autovation 2011

David O’Brien, Director of Regulatory Strategy and Compliance, to Present on Regulation and Smart Grid While Dan Brancaccio, Principal Consultant, to Address SynchroPhasor Systems

WASHINGTON, DC and MARLBOROUGH, MA – September 26, 2011 – BRIDGE Energy Group, Inc., the trusted advisor and implementation partner in Smart Grid Integration and Utility Solutions, announced its sponsorship and participation at Autovation 2011. This three day event will be held on September 25th-28th at the Gaylord Conference Center in Washington, DC.

David O’Brien, Director of Regulatory Strategy and Compliance at BRIDGE Energy Group, will present on the panel, “Bridging the Smart Grid Divide to Meet Today’s Energy Challenges” on September 27th from 8:30-10am . This open conversation will address long-held assumptions about the regulatory process in terms of ratemaking, asset recovery, and rate design given the nature of smart grid investments. The panel will include Tom Graham, Pepco Holdings, Inc.; Maureen Harris, New York State Public Service Commission and Don Rendall, Green Mountain Power.

According to Mr. O’Brien, “The emerging smart grid is a genuine ‘game changer’ in how utilities will operate the grid and how consumers will purchase and consume energy. It is truly unique to see such a rapid, transformative change occur in a regulated industry. Unquestionably, this places a strain on the established regulatory process that greatly values stability and predictable outcomes.”

Dan Brancaccio, Principal Consultant, will present on “SynchroPhasor Systems–Cutting Edge Technologies Supporting the Vision of Smart Grid” on September 27th at 4:15. Mr. Brancaccio will share how improved data communications, standardization and interoperability, alongside a push on SynchroPhasor technology, will help to put communication infrastructure in place and make collecting nonoperational data easier.

Autovation is the largest utility automation conference and expo in North America. The conference attracts electric, water and gas utility professionals from around the world seeking to maximize operations and share best practices.
