Smart Grid Solutions Company Ranked #11 in Boston & #5 for IT Companies in Energy
BRIDGE Energy Group, Inc., the trusted advisor and implementation partner in the Energy industry, today announced that the 2010 Inc. 500|5000 has ranked the rapidly growing Smart Grid solutions provider as #634 on the list of fastest growing private companies. BRIDGE was ranked #23 in the energy industry, #11 in the Boston Metro area and #5 on the list of IT solutions providers within the energy industry.
Inc. magazine announced its fourth annual Inc. 5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation’s fastest‐growing private companies. The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy—America’s independent‐minded entrepreneurs. The 2010 Inc. 5000, unveiled today on Inc.com, serves as a unique illustration of the profound changes taking place in the U.S. economy. “BRIDGE is pleased to be recognized as one of the fastest growing private companies by Inc. 500|5000 in the energy industry,” said Tony Giroti, CEO of BRIDGE Energy Group. “The true accomplishment here is that BRIDGE is developing Smart Grid technology and achieving success in helping the energy industry to make Smart Grid a reality. We are also creating real high‐tech jobs during an economic downturn, which is a testament to the growing investment in R&D and energy solutions.”
Despite the fact that most of this year’s measuring period of 2006‐2009 took place during the latest recession, aggregate revenue among the companies on the list actually increased to $321.6 billion, up more than 50 percent from last year. The effects of the recession are seen, however, in the median three‐year growth rate, which dropped to 96 percent from last year’s 126 percent. This year’s Inc. 5000 employ a record 1.4 million people, up from one million on last year’s list.
“Our company has experienced a 480+% three‐year growth rate and by end of 2010 we’ll have doubled in size over last year,” said Colum Lundt, Co‐founder and COO of BRIDGE. “The founders of BRIDGE built the company with the intent of being the premiere IT solutions provider within the energy industry and we are thrilled to be recognized by INC. as one of the top five fastest growing IT companies in the energy sector.”
“The leaders of the companies on this year’s Inc. 5000 have figured out how to grow their businesses during the longest recession since the Great Depression,” said Inc. president Bob LaPointe. “The 2010 Inc. 5000 showcases a particularly hardy group of entrepreneurs.”
