Hugo van Nispen, CEO
Mr. van Nispen is a global business executive and experienced CEO. His expertise, combined with the ability to identify and develop strong global teams is evidenced by an enviable scorecard of growing profitable businesses, managing complex project assignments and driving performance improvements through successful re-engineering and merger execution.
An energetic and optimistic business leader, Mr. van Nispen has successfully integrated multiple, complex merged entities by focusing on things that matter: managing top talent and building high performing teams. With a personal passion for foreign language and an ability to internalize cultural nuance, he has been extremely effective at developing and managing businesses spread across the globe.
Most recently, Mr. van Nispen was a Principal at Exponent. Prior to this role, he served as COO & EVP, Energy Advisory, DNV GL – Energy division of DNV GL Group, a $2.5 billion global business focusing on grid modernization, sustainability, conventional and renewable energy, maritime and offshore oil & gas. In this role, he led 1300 professionals in delivering global consulting and advisory activities focused on renewable and conventional energy strategy, cyber-security and grid strengthening, energy sustainability and emerging energy technologies, including battery storage and microgrid generation.
Previously, Mr. van Nispen was President and CEO of KEMA, USA, prior to its acquisition by DNV GL. As CEO, he led KEMA USA through a 10 fold increase in revenues concurrently with building a premier regional energy consulting business and was responsible for the successful integration of the business into DNV GL. Mr. van Nispen has been published in numerous key trade publications and was awarded Consulting Magazine’s “Top 25 Consultant” for the work he led introducing renewable energy and sustainability into KEMA’s business portfolio.
Mr. van Nispen earned his MBA, with Distinction, from the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business and his BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
Tom Leone, CFO
Mr. Leone has over 25 years of experience in various senior finance leadership roles within the high technology sector. As an experienced CFO, Mr. Leone has led several successful M&A transactions, possesses strong business planning and analytical skills, and has worked with all business functions to help achieve corporate strategic goals.
Prior to joining BRIDGE Energy Group, Mr. Leone served as CFO and COO of AccuSoft Corporation, an imaging software company. While at AccuSoft, he led the company through several years of profitable growth, ultimately resulting in a successful acquisition transaction for the shareholders. Mr. Leone previously served as CFO of several software and information technology consulting companies, including Applied Insurance Research, ADEPT, and CareTools, and held a variety of senior financial positions at Epsilon Data Management.
While functioning as CFO with these high-tech companies, Mr. Leone experienced rapid revenue growth, led geographical expansions and new product introductions. He successfully balanced the respective business growth requirements by prioritizing investments and providing adequate access to capital. It is this unique blend of finance, operations and business experience that allows Mr. Leone to enable organizations to properly align financial with business goals.
Mr. Leone received a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Bryant University and a Masters in Business Administration from Bentley University.
Barry Cioe, Vice President
Mr. Cioe is responsible for BRIDGE Energy Group’s corporate marketing, field marketing, and the company’s industry-leading survey-based research. He works closely with the executive team and subject matter experts to identify, refine and promote impactful service offerings.
Mr. Cioe is also responsible for the company’s information technology team – ensuring business alignment and transforming end user and infrastructure services for scalability, reliability and high end-user productivity.
Mr. Cioe was previously the president of the consulting practice at Achieve! Consulting Services where he and his team helped clients attain their business goals by capturing the insight of their customers, partners, and employees to validate and define business and product priorities and plans. Prior to Achieve, Mr. Cioe was the vice president of marketing and product management for Enterasys. While there he was responsible for the definition and delivery of wireless and wired switching, routing and security products and solutions. He worked closely with customers and partners to understand their networking and security needs in order to develop cost-effective products and solutions for them. Mr. Cioe was a major driver behind the successful turnaround of the company.
Prior to this, Mr. Cioe led several product development and network and security services teams for Symantec, AXENT Technologies and GTE where he led or assisted in the design, development and deployment of networking and security products, large-scale networks and multi-million dollar software systems with both commercial and government application.
In total, Mr. Cioe has over 20 years of experience working in the Internet security and network infrastructure markets. He has also managed the deployment or integration of various technologies, including enterprise switching and routing, Unified Threat Management systems, security gateways, firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Systems, Network Access Control solutions and more.
Mr. Cioe earned his BS in Computer Electrical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island and his MBA from Northeastern University.
Sandy Simon, Vice President
Ms. Simon leads BRIDGE’s Transmission and Distribution Operations Business Area. In this role, she drives the T&D operations solutions, including strategic advisory and planning initiatives for utilities developing grid modernization and transformation programs across North America.
Ms. Simon brings over 20 years of experience with utilities as a results-oriented leader with extensive experience defining and leading transformation through improvement and technology optimization.
Before joining BRIDGE, Ms. Simon was the COO at USGRDCO where she was responsible for the Community Energy Infrastructure Development business, helping create sustainable and resilient energy solutions for communities. Prior to USGRDCO, Ms. Simon was a consultant at GE helping lead the design, implementation and deployment of an advanced Project Management Office to govern and manage their AMI SaaS initiatives. Her consulting experience also includes delivery and integration of strategic smart grid solutions for HCL America and EnergyGrid Networks. Ms. Simon also served as Executive Director and General Manager, West Division for Comverge, Inc., provider of intelligent energy management solutions, where she was responsible for developing demand management strategies for utility clients.
Prior to her consulting roles, Ms. Simon was the Director of Utility Innovations and Smart Grid Strategy for Xcel Energy, responsible for the integration of smart energy technologies to change how the utility produced and delivered power to consumers. Ms. Simon was instrumental in the incubation, development, launch and oversight of the SmartGridCity™ initiative in Boulder, Colorado. She has also held project management and IT integration positions at AIMCO, KN Energy, Price Waterhouse and Deloitte & Touché.
Ms. Simon holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science from Evangel College in Springfield, Missouri as well as an MBA from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver.
Glen Sartain, Vice President
Mr. Sartain leads the company’s Analytics Business Area. In this role, he is responsible for strategy and design of analytic roadmaps for clients and the implementation of these strategies across the portfolio.
Mr. Sartain is recognized in the analytics community for his expertise in advancing analytic capabilities to help utilities improve operations, bringing new insight from the proven models used today in other industries.
Throughout his career, Mr. Sartain has been involved in all aspects of Energy including Electric & Natural Gas Utilities, Consumer Analytics, and Transmission. Prior to joining BRIDGE, Mr. Sartain led both large and small scale implementations of analytic solutions, as a Managing Partner of Manufacturing at Teradata. While at Teradata, Mr. Sartain helped build the Utilities Logical Data Model (ULDM) which has been implemented in multiple utilities across North America. Prior to that, he served as Managing Director for CIMA Energy where he was responsible for directing the effort in building the information management strategy including hardware, software systems and business processes, including SCADA systems.
Mr. Sartain’s industry experience of more than 35 years in analytics and technology innovation for the Energy sector includes work as the founder and owner of ESI (Energy Solutions Inc.) where they developed Natural Gas, Power Trading, and Transmission systems during the peak of deregulation, working with utilities including SDG&E, PECO, and SCE.
Mr. Sartain earned a Graduate degree in Education from Pacific Coast Baptist College and holds certification in Teradata 12.0, SQL DBA and AIA.
Richard Jones, Vice President
Mr. Jones leads the company’s Grid Security Business Area. He has over 25 years of energy and utility industry experience providing business, technology, and management consulting based services.
Prior to joining BRIDGE, he was in Senior Leadership roles for various major consulting firms, most recently focused on delivering cybersecurity and compliance related performance improvement and program management services. Prior to this, Mr. Jones was a major contributor in the restructuring efforts of the electric industry in California, Texas, the Midwest, New York and Alberta. His efforts included overall program management and program planning, provision of subject matter expertise for solution deployment in ISO operations and settlements.
Mr. Jones is an active practitioner, published writer, and recognized specialist in Cybersecurity, NERC CIP and general utility regulatory compliance and reporting. He has experience in assessing need and risk, as well as planning and implementing cybersecurity and compliance programs. Mr. Jones is a named inventor in patent pending: Objectively Managing Risk Application No.: 13/801,254.
Michelle Fay, Vice President
Ms. Fay leads the Success Enablement Business Area. She has spent the last 20+ years providing consulting, implementation and support services to utilities in the United States and Canada, with a primary focus on realizing the benefits from Smart Grid implementations.
Ms. Fay currently leads the team of BRIDGE consultants developing and delivering solutions for our utility clients and serves as the executive sponsor for key engagements, responsible for quality oversight and client satisfaction. While at BRIDGE she has led the roadmap and planning for several transformational engagements, including a $400M+ Grid Modernization effort and a $300M+ gas operations transformation effort. In addition, Ms. Fay led the delivery of the $50M+ Worcester, MA Smart Grid Pilot for National Grid. On that project, she led the PMO for a team of over 100 individuals comprised of business owners and technical staff from National Grid and 12 technology vendors.
Prior to joining BRIDGE, Ms. Fay was the VP of Professional Services at Aclara (formerly Nexus Energy Sofware), managing the delivery and support of Aclara’s solutions. While there, she led a team of Project Managers, Business Analysts, Marketing and Account Managers to implement and support software solutions at over 80 large utilities. Ms. Fay worked closely with her project teams and clients to define best practices and implement new processes and methodologies for implementations which led to a track record of fast, successful implementations with a high level of client satisfaction throughout delivery. She also served as the executive sponsor on key accounts, working closely with the utility’s senior management to ensure a successful delivery.
Prior to joining Aclara, Ms. Fay worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Principal Consultant in the Energy Group. While at PricewaterhouseCoopers, she worked with many utilities throughout the United States, developing and implementing gas management and risk management systems. Ms. Fay also has experience in directing and managing large development teams and has extensive experience in formulating and implementing software development standards and procedures focused on delivering business benefits.
Fred Alexander, Vice President
Mr. Alexander is responsible for leading the company’s Client Services organization. In his role, he leads the group accountable for the strategy, growth, and retention of BRIDGE’s key clients. He oversees the management of client and partner relationships with respect to the successful delivery and customer satisfaction of the Company’s services.
Mr. Alexander also leads the Resource Management group, responsible for sourcing hard-to-find subject matter expertise to supplement BRIDGE’s extensive capabilities.
Prior to BRIDGE, Mr. Alexander was a Vice President at Oxford Global Resources, an international technology consulting and human capital firm. Accountable for all operations in the eastern United States, Mr. Alexander was responsible for the growth and profitability of the Information Technology, Software/Hardware, Engineering, and Life Sciences business units. In this role, he led a significant turnaround effort, successfully managed an acquisition in the IT sector, and launched the Life Sciences business unit.
Before Oxford, Mr. Alexander was Senior Vice President of Consulting Services and a Managing Partner at Software Quality Associates (SQA), a leading Quality Assurance and Test Automation consulting firm. He was responsible for leading the strategy, operations and execution of the firm’s consulting and project-based solutions. Mr. Alexander developed, implemented, and lead the sales and delivery operations that enabled the organization’s geographic expansion and significant year over year revenue growth. Early in his career, Mr. Alexander sold Information Technology and Engineering services.
Mr. Alexander earned his Bachelor of Science in Aviation Science from Bridgewater State University. As part of the flight program, he obtained his FAA Private, Instrument, Commercial, Multi-Engine and Certified Flight Instructor Licenses.
Roy Pratt, Chief Architect and Senior Director for Technology Delivery
Mr. Pratt drives the solutioning and architecture of client projects in his role as Cheif Architect and oversees the technical delivery of those projects in his role as Director for Technology Delivery.
Mr. Pratt works directly with clients to provide business and technology assessments, enterprise strategy and technology roadmaps, major implementation and integration programs, merger, acquisition, and divestiture analysis.
Prior to joining BRIDGE, Mr. Pratt was CTO for Manufacturing, Industrials and Energy with Hewlett-Packard company. During his tenure as CTO, Mr. Pratt was recognized as a HP Distinguished Technologist and recipient of the Chairman’s Innovation Award for City 2.0 (IoT, Positive Train Control, Realtime Flight Data Recording). Prior to its merger with Hewlett-Packard, Mr. Pratt had a 25+ year career at EDS. His experience spanned across multiple industries including automotive, industrials, manufacturing, engineering, IT, utilities (electric, gas, water) and petroleum and included a diverse set of roles including manufacturing engineer, engineering systems engineer, infrastructure engineer, systems engineer, solution architect, systems architect, communications engineer, enterprise architect, distinguished technologist, and chief architect.
Mr. Pratt earned his Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering (BEEE) from Youngstown State University.
